Agata Kieliszek, PhD

Agata completed a PhD in Dr. Sheila Singh’s lab at McMaster University in 2023, where her research focused on developing new therapies for brain metastasis. Her doctoral work, which attracted significant industry investment, earned numerous honours including the Mitacs Accelerate Scholarship, the Young Investigator’s Award in Clinical/Translational Research, and nomination for the Governor General’s Academic Medal.

Currently funded by the Canadian Cancer Society and CIHR’s Institute of Cancer Research, Agata is advancing translational cancer research by spinning out her PhD discoveries into Block Biosciences. In addition to scientific expertise, she brings business training from McMaster’s mini-MBA, adMare’s BioInnovation Scientist program, and the Mitacs Invention to Innovation Skills Training program at the SFU Beedie School of Business.
